Some common questions we receive include:
Do I need to make several visits before I
get adjusted, or will I be adjusted on the first
visit?
Extra time is alloted for new patient visits
in order to obtain an in depth patient history
and physical examination. If there are no contraindications
to chiropractic treatment, or if there is no need
for a medical referral, chiropractic treatment
will be preformed on the first visit.
Will I need to be X-rayed?
Usually no. If there are clinical indications
that an X-ray is needed you will be referred to
your primary care physician for X-rays.
Will you bill my insurance for me?
Yes. We bill most major insurances for treatment
provided in our clinic. If you have specific questions
about your insurance please call Candice at (734)
437-7689 and we will find out your insurance coverage
for you.
We accept most insurances including Blue Cross
Blue Sheild, Medicare, Aetna, Blue Care Network,
Great Lakes, HAP, plus many more.
Will you try to sell me long-term treatment
plans?
No. I will tell you what the cause of your condition
is, and what we will do to fix it. Some patients
respond in a couple treatments, some take much
longer and require a occasional treatment every
month or so to help maintain their progress. Each
patient is an individual, and requires a specific
treatment plan. I do not believe in “cookie-cutter”
treatment plans.
My last chiropractor would spend less then
a minute in the room adjusting me. Will you do
the same?
Typical patient visits last about 20 minutes
in my office. Some a little shorter, some a little
longer depending on the type of treatment you
need for your injury or condition.
I heard that once you go to a chiropractor,
you always have to go back? Is this true?
I will discuss the need for ongoing care with
you as the treatment protocol progresses, and
it will depend on your specific condition and
how you are recovering. Simply, as you improve,
the treatment frequency will decrease. For some
patients chiropractic treatment is like a regular
tune-up for their back and get adjusted on a regular
basis to help deal with the daily wear and tear
of life. For others, it's simply an effective
treatment when back pain strikes and these patients
seek treatment only a couple time a year. I would
like all my patients to continue with chiropractic
care as needed for all of their musculoskeletal
conditions. But rather then using high pressure
tactics, and slick marketing ideas to get you
to continue care, I plan to let chiropractic speak
for itself.
