Massage therapy is an alternative way to increase circulation to muscles and other soft tissue. It also helps to relax muscles, relieve stress and revitalize the body. There are several different types of massage, the type you have will depend on what your body needs. A Swedish massage involves long strokes and kneading motions to relax muscles. A sports or deep tissue massage is designed to stretch certain muscles to enhance athletic performance and aid recovery.
Massage therapy is a good way to relieve discomfort you may have from simply doing daily tasks or physical activity. Massage therapy can improve mobility as well as decrease muscle tension. It will increase blood flow and relieve pain.
